April Newsletter
Web Site
Many thanks to Isabella for asking her Son-in law Gordon to revamp our web site for us. Gordon has updated the site with recent race results and the training schedule.
Please send any race results to him at kinrossroadrunners@yahoo.co.uk.
Championship
There was a good turn out from the club at the first of the Championship races, Alloa Half Marathon. Tony has worked out the points for the race and will send
them to Gordon to put them on the Web site. If you ran with somebody else’s number please make sure that Tony knows so that the points are allocated correctly.
The next Championship race is the Kinross High School PTA 10K on 27 April. Entry is on the day only at Kinross High School and the race starts at 7:30pm at Kinross
House. This is a flat course so good for fast times.
Scottish Athletics have now published the Summer Fixture list and sent a copy to all members. The training schedule will be updated to show the dates of Championship races.
Training
Roger is planning alternatives to speed work on the off road run nights. On 5 April he is planning to offer laps of Portmoak Moss as an alternative to the Tetley
Tea Trail. He plans to offer the speed work at the same venue as the run so you can decide what to do on the night. Please note that we aim to meet at 7pm at Portmoak
Car Park or 6:45pm at the Leisure Centre to allow for travel time.
Ten Pin Bowling
Tony has booked 2 lanes at the new bowling alley in Dunfermline for 7:30pm on 28 April. Please let him know if you would like to go.
Cateran Trail
We have at least one team for the Cateran Trail on 13 May and I’m still hoping we can enter a ladies team. Please let me know if you’re interested in running.
Perth Half Marathon
Perth Road Runners have invited us to join them in a friendly training/team race event over their Half Marathon Course next Sunday. There are 3 of us definitely going
on Sunday (me, Isabella and Gordon) meet us at 9:30am at the Leisure Centre if you would like to join us and bring a picnic for after the race.
Loch Leven Half Marathon
The race is fast approaching and the committee met on Thursday to discuss arrangements. If you are storing the mile markers please let David Houston know that you have
them as we’re not sure where they are! We are looking for volunteers to help on the day, we can find you something to do even if you’re running! If you are planning to
run please send me you’re entry or enter on line at EntryCentral.net. We have 151 entries so far so there are plenty of spaces left but we expect the race to start filling up soon.
